Espanol Experience

SSPPAANNIISSHH!!

Honestly, I can't stand that class (sorry Senor). But on Friday we went on a trip to Chicago to visit the famous art museum and then eat lunch at an authentic Spanish restaurant. It was a very interesting experience.

Kayla met at my house about 5:50 in the morning and then we headed off to school to jump on the bus at 6:00. On a normal school day my big butt isn't even awake by then. Lets just say I was a little tired and grumpy. But as always, Megan and I came up with a genius plan to fix that; we bought another Monster energy drink the size of Megan's torso and also a smaller Monster for the trip home. For me, that wasn't enough, I'm a caffeine addict, so I not only bought the two Monsters, I also bought two bottles of Diet Pepsi. I was set! As soon as the bus hit the interstate, we popped open our ginormous drink and went to town with it.

Once in Chicago, we drove around and saw a few sites before we went the museum, the lakes and rivers there are gorgeous! About 1/2 hour later we arrived at the museum and had a guided tour around and saw most of the paintings we studied earlier this year. At first it was interesting, but a few paintings later I was ready to hide in the corner and take a nap. When we were finally set free and able to wonder, Kayla and I roamed around and took pictures. Our favorite was the hall way that connected different parts of the museum. It was bright colors and had dots and commas all over it.... I guess it was one of those "had to be there" moments.

After the museum we went to the Spanish restaurant and I ate things that didn't even resemble food. I now know why the Spaniards are so skinny, their food tastes horrible! I'm not going into detail because I'll save you the mental images and not throwing your breakfast back up. : / Since there was barely anything edible, Kayla and I split a dessert that rocked my world three times. It was a crepe stuffed with vanilla ice cream, whip cream on top of the crepe, and then strawberry sauce around it. Can you say YUMMY X 100!? That was gone like we haven't eaten for days. Purely amazing!

Finally it was time to go home. That took FOREVER! It took us an hour just to get out of the city! We made amazing time coming in because there wasn't any traffic, but on our way out we added about another 1 1/2 hours on to the trip just because every one decided to be driving at the same time. Thanks guys! A little after 8 o'clock we were finally home, my butt was a pancake, and I had to go to the bathroom like you could not believe! (sorry, but I just had to share)

The trip over all was really fun and I'm glad that I went, next time I'm bringing a pillow though. It was brutal trying to get comfortable at times. The museum was interesting, food was a great experience, and I finally got to watch Stomp the Yard. Fun day to me! :)
