I'm going to hit on a controversial subject with this entry......
I think gay marriage should be legal and it's stupid for it not to be. They're people too, and they deserve the right to be married to who ever they want to, whether it's a boy or a girl, why should the whole country care? People get married all the time that people don't approve of or their own families hate their partners, but why not let gays get married that have families that are supportive, or if they're not, it wouldn't be any different than straight couples getting married. If pimps, murderers, and child molesters have the privilege of getting married, then why can't gay people?
Some are denied housing, jobs, hate crime victims, and constantly harassed in public, what makes them so different? Sure, they like the same sex, but they're still normal, every day people like you and me. Judge a person by their actions and personality, not by who their sexual preference is.
I myself am not gay, but I support gay rights, and if I could, I would give a speech to the president if it would help get their marriage legalized. Discrimination has turned into human nature and it's sickening. It used to be American vs immigrant, then black vs white, and now it's straight vs gay. We've gotten over those hurtles over time, why not try to get over this one as well? They aren't aliens or something to be afraid of. They breath, eat, walk, talk, and look just like you and me, so why hate on them?
Some things in life I'll never understand and this is one of those mysteries. Can someone explain this to me because I just can't wrap my mind around it. They should have the right to marry just like you and me.
Imagine if you weren't allowed to marry the one you're madly in love with because America doesn't accept your relationship.... how would you feel then?
